About the flight

Do I need to be home during the flight?

It is preferred but not required. If you will not be there, I will ask for keys beforehand or we will agree on access – for example, key handover from the seller or broker to enter the property. The flight is conducted from the yard or open ground – no need to go inside. Many clients prefer to be nearby to see the process firsthand.

Is the drone noisy?

There is some noise (similar to an electric fan), but it is moderate and lasts only the 30–60 minutes of the flight. From a distance (~50 m) the noise becomes barely audible. In winter, when windows are closed, neighbours usually notice nothing at all.

How long does an inspection take?

It depends on the size of the object. An average residential roof inspection takes 30–60 min. A commercial building (1000+ m²) – 1–2 hours. A solar power plant (50 kW) – about 30 min. Large agricultural areas (500+ ha) – 1–3 hours. I can give you an exact time after our first conversation.

Do you operate year-round, including winter?

Yes. The DJI Matrice 4T is IP55 certified and operates from -20°C to +50°C. In winter, roof inspections are even more effective – temperature differences between indoors and outdoors are greatest, so thermal imaging detects heat loss best. I only cancel flights during heavy rain, snow or strong wind (>15 m/s).

How far in advance do I need to book?

A standard booking can be fulfilled within 24–72 hours. In urgent cases (emergency roof damage, search operations) – the same or next day. Monthly monitoring packages are scheduled according to an agreed timetable.

Legal questions

Is permission required to fly over private property?

Yes. When flying over private property I always obtain the owner's consent. For real estate inspections, if you are buying an apartment or house, I must inform the seller before the flight (they usually agree, as it benefits them – an honest sale).

Do you have an official permit to fly?

Yes. I am an EASA-certified drone operator with open category A2 and specific category certificates. Registered in the LTA UAS operator list. All flights are planned with a risk assessment; in regulated airspace – coordinated through the LTA UTM system.

Are you insured?

Yes. Operations are covered by civil liability insurance. This provides additional security for both my clients and third parties in the event of an unexpected incident. I can provide insurance details upon request.

How is my data protected?

All data collected during missions – photos, thermal images, reports – belongs to you. Stored encrypted, transferred only to you, not published without your explicit consent. Upon request – deleted from my systems after project completion.

About the report

What will I receive after the flight?

Within 24–48 hours by email you will receive a professional PDF report with:

  • Visual photos and thermal images
  • Problems marked with GPS coordinates
  • Defect classification by severity
  • Specific recommendations
  • Indicative repair cost range (where relevant)

The report is suitable for negotiations, insurance processes or technical decisions.

Is a drone inspection an official building technical assessment?

No.

This is very important to understand. A drone inspection is an independent visual and thermal assessment that helps see what a conventional inspection cannot reach. It does not replace an official building technical assessment performed by licensed specialists for internal inspection. We inspect only what is visible from the air – roof, facade, chimneys, gutters. Interior spaces require a different specialisation.

Payment

How does payment work?

After the work is completed you will receive an invoice by email. Payment by bank transfer within 7–14 days (as per agreement). Business clients can arrange monthly billing. I request an advance only for large projects (1000+ €).

Can you issue an invoice?

Yes, always. I operate as a business entity (MB) and can issue invoices with VAT. Business clients can pay by bank transfer and include it in their accounting.

Is the first flight really free?

Yes. The first trial flight at a location of your choice – free of charge, with no obligations. The goal is for you to see how everything works and decide whether it suits you. After the trial flight you can order a full inspection or decline – no pressure.

Location

Do you travel outside Vilnius?

Yes, I operate across all of Lithuania. No travel fee in the Vilnius region. Beyond 30 km from Vilnius an additional charge applies – €0.30/km. For longer distances (Klaipėda, Mažeikiai) travel costs are included in the quote.

What if no one inspects my property locally?

If no one in the area offers this service – that is a common situation. I travel even to remote locations. Just enquire via the contact form or call +370 621 10999 – I will tell you whether I can come and what it would cost.
